Lake Okeechobee
Everglades Monitoring Network

The Lake Okeechobee - Everglade’s ecosystem is a national treasure. World Water Watch evaluates the effectiveness of monitoring systems and conservation practices in achieving water quantity and quality goals in Lake Okeechobee, the Everglades and Florida Bay.

Several state and national agencies, as well as interested environmental organizations, are collecting data and evaluating the effectiveness of the remediation program in the Lake Okeechobee- The Everglades-Florida Bay system. It is hoped that lessons learned in this restoration program will not only benefit South Florida, but also act as a model for similar efforts in other parts of the country.

World Water Watch is developing advanced monitoring and conservation systems and design procedures (technology and tools), which will assist all groups involved to achieve restoration project objectives and sustain ecosystem health over the long-term.
