IWM Integrated Watershed Management

The development of comprehensive monitoring systems and analytical tools, along with community and governmental involvement, is the basis for Integrated Watershed Management (IWM).

World Water Watch works with NGO’s and governmental units to develop, implement and support IWM projects. The IWM concept relies heavily on the involvement of community and environmental organizations in the day-to-day and year-to-year monitoring and management of watershed activities.

WWW assists IWM projects with technology and tools to establish and maintain indicators and appropriate data collection (including volunteer monitoring) methods that not only assist in sustaining watershed health, but also aid in local outreach and education programs.
